1. Fundamentals (The Basics)

What is Rudraksha?

Rudraksha is the dried seed of the fruit from the evergreen Elaeocarpus Ganitrus tree. The word literally means "Tears of Shiva" (Rudra means Shiva, Aksha means tears). They are revered in Hinduism for their spiritual and medicinal properties and are used for meditation, chanting (Japa), and wearing for protection.

Where do your Rudraksha beads come from?

Our Rudraksha beads are primarily sourced from Nepal ("the high-altitude forests of Nepal, which are known for producing the largest and most potent beads").

What do the "Mukhis" (Faces) mean?

The Mukhi refers to the lines or clefts running naturally from the top to the bottom of the bead. The number of Mukhis determines the bead's ruling deity, ruling planet, and specific spiritual benefits. They typically range from 1 to 21 Mukhi.

Who can wear a Rudraksha?

Anyone can wear a Rudraksha—regardless of age, gender, caste, culture, or religious background. It is a natural bead intended for the spiritual and physical well-being of all human beings.

2. Authenticity and Quality

How can I be sure your Rudraksha are genuine?

We guarantee the 100% authenticity of our Rudraksha. We provide a Certificate of Authenticity for every bead. The best way to identify a genuine Rudraksha is through visual inspection of its natural contours and clefts (Mukhis).

What is the difference between Nepal and Indonesian Rudraksha?

Nepali Rudraksha are generally larger, heavier, and have deeper, more pronounced Mukhis, making them highly prized for their perceived potency and faster results. Indonesian (Java) Rudraksha are smaller, lighter, and smoother. Both are effective, but the choice often comes down to size preference and budget.

Does the size of the bead matter?

The size generally impacts the price and aesthetic, with larger Nepali beads costing more. While some traditions value larger beads for greater "surface area" or faster impact, the number of Mukhis is the ultimate determinant of the bead's core power and benefit.

Are your beads already energized/consecrated?

Yes. All Rudraksha beads sold by Rudraksham are purified and energized according to Vedic procedures with the appropriate mantras and rituals before being shipped to you.

3. Wearing and Care (Rules to Supplement the "Rules to Wear" Page)

Should I wear the Rudraksha all the time?

It is recommended to wear your Rudraksha on your body as much as possible, letting it become a part of you. However, it can be removed during periods of high disrespect, personal choice, or specific circumstances (How To Wear Rudraksha-Rudraksham).

Can I wear Rudraksha while bathing/showering?

It is generally advised to avoid wearing it while using chemical soaps and warm water, as this can dehydrate the bead and clog its pores, leading to cracks. It is to be removed before going to bed every night. You are supposed to wear it again in the morning after taking bath and recite appropriate Rudraksha Mantra along with Rudraksha Utpatti Mantra.

How do I take care of my Rudraksha?

To maintain its life and vibrancy, you should oil your Rudraksha periodically (e.g., every 6 months). Use a soft, unscented oil like Almond, Sandalwood, or Mustard oil. Gently rub the oil over the beads and Mukhis, then wipe off any excess with a cotton cloth.

Can women wear Rudraksha during menstruation?

While the Rudraksha is inherently a pure, natural object, it is generally not advised to wear it during the menstrual cycle as per established Hindu Puja and ritual purity rules. We strongly recommend temporarily removing the Rudraksha and keeping it in a sacred place (like a temple or altar) during this time, and resuming wearing it afterward.

Can I wear Rudraksha with other gemstones?

Yes, Rudraksha beads can be worn alongside gemstones. In fact, wearing them together is believed to complement and enhance the effects of the gemstones.

How do I choose the right Rudraksha for me?

The simplest way is to choose based on your desired benefit (e.g., 7 Mukhi for wealth, 4 Mukhi for wisdom). For a more tailored selection, consult our  Guide  or contact our experts for a personalized recommendation.

Can I wear different Mukhis together?

Yes, wearing a combination of different Mukhi Rudraksha beads is common and highly effective. Each bead contributes its individual power to the combination (e.g., a Siddha Mala combines 1-14 Mukhis).
